The university's management team, led by the rector of Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), Geray Geraybeyli, visited the Alley of Honor on the occasion of the memorial day of the National Leader, the founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, Heydar Aliyev.

During the visit, a wreath was laid at the grave of the Great Leader and deep respect was expressed to his memory. AMU representatives gratefully remembered Heydar Aliyev's invaluable services to the strengthening of Azerbaijani statehood and the development of education and healthcare.

Within the framework of the event, the memory of the Great Leader's lifelong companion, prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated with respect, and bouquets of flowers were laid on her grave.

The AMU leadership also visited the graves of well-known statesman Aziz Aliyev and Professor Tamerlan Aliyev, commemorated their memories, and laid bouquets of flowers on their graves.
